Is it an urban legend or science fact that filling up your fuel tank very early in the morning or late at night is best? πŸ€”

The theory suggests that pumping fuel at cooler temperatures ❄️ gives you slightly more fuel for the same price. β›½

While the basic idea holds some truthβ€”petrol does expand and contract slightly with temperatureβ€”the impact is minimal. Moreover, fuel is stored in deep underground tanks where temperature 🌑️ variations are much smaller than in the air above. As a result, the temperature of the petrol coming out of the nozzle varies very little, if at all. πŸ€—

Rev up your car, pull into the petrol station β›½, and grab the air compressor for a quick tyre refill – a routine for most drivers. But did you know, in this familiar scenario, your tyre is likely running hot 🌑️?

If you need to adjust tyre pressure when they're hot, increase it by 4 psi (14 kPa) above the recommended cold inflation pressure. This is because air will expand when heated, so your actual pressure reading could be lower. Remember to recheck the pressure when the tyres are cold.

You can always let some air out if you've overfilled. πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ Avoid driving with over inflated tyres as it can result in decreased traction, premature wear, and decreased impact absorption.

Is a smaller engine car 🚘 always more fuel efficient?

Not exactly so πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ, and here are a few reasons why:

πŸš— A small, low-powered engine may struggle when installed in a larger-sized car, especially when carrying a heavy load. This can force the smaller engine to operate beyond its optimal efficiency range.
πŸš— A larger engine, when supported by a hybrid system, can match the fuel efficiency of a smaller car equipped with a conventional engine
πŸš— Small performance-oriented engines prioritize power output over fuel efficiency, consuming more fuel compared to bigger engines designed for passenger cars

Before hastily purchasing an engine replacement oil πŸ›’οΈ for your vehicle, consider these helpful tips to make a well-informed decision 🧐.

🚘 Engine oils are labelled with two-digit numbers, separated by a W i.e 05W-30 or 10W-20
🚘 The number before 'W' indicates the oil's viscosity at low temperatures. A lower value means the oil circulates faster during a cold start
🚘 The 'W' indicates the oil's suitability for cold climates
🚘 The number after 'W' indicates the oil's viscosity at engine operating temperature. Higher values mean greater viscosity, essential for Singapore's hot, humid conditions.

Save time, money, and enhance your vehicle's performance with the right engine oil and professional guidance.
Book an appointment now and take advantage of the current promotion to give your car the high-quality engine oil it deserves.

Topping up of engine oil is crucial if the dipstick tells you that your oil level is low. Once you have your engine oil ready, here's how you do it:

1️⃣ Ensure you're parked at a flat road and let your engine cool down
2️⃣ Check your dipstick to determine how much oil is needed
3️⃣ Unscrew the oil filler cap, add in the oil bit by bit to allow 1 - 2 minutes interval of pause to allow the oil to reach the sump
4️⃣ Check your dipstick again and keep adding small amount till your desire level
