When a customer's car enters your workshop, assume the interior is contaminated. Here is what we should do to protect ourselves & our staff:
(1) Those entering and/or servicing a vehicle should be sure, and should always wear Personal Protective Equipment such as nitrile or latex gloves, goggles, face shields, and (if available) N95 masks.
(2) Wipe door handles, steering wheels, shifter levers, etc. with disinfectant(s) or alcohol
(3) When inspecting and/or replacing a cabin air filter, spray the door with a disinfectant, and then vacuum off the filter prior to removal (if it is accessible). Spraying the disinfectant on the filter before it is removed helps to keep dust to a minimum.
(4) You’ve heard this before, but it is worth saying again; wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
