What Causes Rust In Cooling System?

1. Lack of Proper Coolant

Using the proper coolant and antifreeze in your car is key. Don’t pour water into the radiator, as water will oxidize the system’s metal moving parts, eventually causing rust

2. Air in Cooling System

Rust in the cooling system can also be caused by air getting into the radiator when the engine cools down. As the coolant cools down, it contracts which can cause an air pocket.

*The rust in the coolant causes wear on the water pump seal and the water pump bearings. It may cause engine to overheat in severe cases.

5 Tips in maintaining a turbo diesel.

1. Choosing The Right Oil
Never use low grade oil for your Turbo Diesel, use oil of proper viscosity and correct quality API specification.

2. Frequent and Regular Oil change Interval
Extreme heat and pressure contaminate the lubricating oil more quickly

3. Cooling System Maintenance
Turbo Diesel engines run at high compression pressure, lots of heat is generated.

4. Air Filtration System
Diesel engines use lots of air. So, attention must be paid to the air filtration system. Clean engine filter element at regular interval so that it do not become dirty.

5. Caring For Turbo
Do not high rev the engine immediately from idle. Let 5 – 10 seconds lapse so that the engine oil reaches turbo charger.

What is ECU Remapping (psychotherapy treatment)?

ECU remapping will improve power and torque figures, increase throttle response and widen the power-band, resulting in a more flexible engine and a much sharper drive.

The Engine Control Unit is the ‘brain’ of the engine. Amongst other things it reads, understands and makes decisions based on the accelerator pedal demand angle, engine temperature and oxygen content in the burnt exhaust gases. Depending on this data, it will control the correct quantity of fuel to provide a mix of fuel economy, performance and emission control.

If you have your engine remapped / chipped / chip tuned or whatever term you want to use then the ECU parameters can be changed, giving more performance— in certain cases more economy — from your engine.
