That knock over every speed hump? It was trying to tell him something.

This Subaru Forester came in with a clunk from the front over bumps and uneven roads. You could feel it through the steering. On the hoist the cause was clear: both front lower arms were worn and the ball joints had play in them. That play was the knock, and it had thrown the wheel alignment out and started to chew the front tyres unevenly.

We replaced both front lower arms complete with ball joints as a pair, using original parts so both sides wear evenly. Then a four-wheel alignment to bring the steering back to spec. Road tested before handover: the knock is gone and the car tracks straight again.

A worn ball joint only gets worse. If your car knocks over bumps or the steering feels loose, get it checked early, before it wears more parts and your tyres.

Hearing a knock? WhatsApp us and we will put it on the hoist and tell you what is really going on.

Came in for a major service. Left with the boot that finally stays up again. πŸ‘‡

This Volvo XC40 rolled in at around 90,000km, due for a major service. So we inspected the whole car with Volvo VIDA before quoting a thing. The brakes were the big one. Front pads down to about 10 percent, effectively worn out, rear around 30 percent. Front tyres worn too, while the rears were still fine.

Then there was the annoying one. The rear power tailgate would not stay up or close properly. The gas struts had given out over the years.

So we did it properly. Front and rear brake pads and disc rotors, new front tyres with a wheel alignment, the full service, and new tailgate hydraulic dampers so the boot holds and closes again. The spark plugs and air filter we recommended were out of stock that day, so we did not fit them, and we did not charge for them. Simple as that.

Quoted every item first, only did what was approved, road tested it, boot closing properly on handover.

Came in for a service. The brake check was where the real story was. πŸ‘‡

This Honda Odyssey was due for a service, so we inspected the whole car before quoting a thing. The brakes were the big one. Front and rear pads worn down to about 30 percent, and the disc rotors worn out and past spec.

New pads on tired rotors just gives you a soft, uneven pedal, so we replaced them as a set. Front and rear pads, all four disc rotors, in genuine Honda parts. Then the service: fresh engine oil and filters, aircon filter and brake fluid. Battery and tyres both checked out fine.

Quoted every item first, only did what was approved, road tested it, and the owner collected the same afternoon. Next day the feedback: smooth and solid braking.

Came in for a routine service, drove home with a whole new cooling system.

This Volkswagen Sharan booked in for servicing. While the car was up, our technician spotted coolant leaking. A quick pressure test told the real story: this was not one leak. The radiator, the top and bottom hoses, the expansion tank with its cap and hoses, the heater hoses, even the thermostat and water pump were all weeping. Once we opened the front up, two more heater hoses turned up leaking too.

On an ageing cooling system that is normal. The rubber hardens and the plastic goes brittle at about the same time, so fixing one leak just means the next one shows up next month. We renewed the cooling parts as a set with original VW parts, refilled with the correct coolant, then pressure tested and road tested before handover. Dry system, holds pressure, sorted.

Coolant warning keeps coming back? Puddle under the front? Temperature creeping up in traffic? Get it checked before a slow leak becomes an overheated engine on the expressway.

Two warning lights at once on a Porsche Cayenne hybrid. Scary, right?

This Cayenne S E-Hybrid came in with a blinking engine check light AND a hybrid-system fault on the dash. Most people fear the worst and think the whole hybrid system is gone.

We read it on PIWIS, the Porsche dealer-level scanner, then scanned a second time to be sure. Turned out to be two separate problems on one car. The blinking light was a plain misfire from worn ignition coils and spark plugs. The hybrid warning was a tired high-voltage battery, not the generator (if the generator was gone the car would not even start).

So we fixed both, small first. New OEM-grade coils and plugs cleared the misfire. A reconditioned high-voltage battery brought the hybrid system back. Codes cleared, road tested, and the owner drove off with a smooth, quiet Cayenne again.

Two lights on your dash? Don't panic and don't guess. Let us read the car properly first.

Slipping gears AND running rough? This Volvo hid three faults. πŸ‘‡

This Volvo V40 came in not shifting right, with the engine running rough and a strong vibration through the car. Easy to blame one thing, but a proper road test and a VIDA scan found three.

The gearbox had worn internal parts, so it slipped. The four fuel injectors were tired, so the engine ran rough. And a perished engine mount was shaking the whole car.

We did a full gearbox overhaul, replaced all four injectors and the engine mount. The valve body and torque converter tested fine, so we left them alone. We only replace what is worn, and we show you the parts first.

The gearbox overhaul is backed by our 2 year / 40,000km warranty. Scanned again on VIDA and road tested before handover.

ABS light, dead reverse camera, wonky steering, all at once. One hidden cause. πŸ‘‡

This VW Passat estate rolled in with the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. The ABS and ESP fault light was on. The reverse parking sensors and reverse camera had stopped working. Power-steering and alarm warning messages kept popping up too.

Looks scary, right? Like several expensive faults at once. But we do not guess from warning lights. We read the car on ODIS, the dealer-level VW diagnostic tool, and the scan pointed straight at one thing: all four ABS wheel-speed sensors were faulty.

Here is the catch. Modern VWs share that wheel-speed data everywhere. The stability control, the reverse camera, the parking sensors and the electric power steering all lean on it. So when the sensors go bad, everything that depends on them throws a warning. One root cause, many warnings.

We replaced all four ABS wheel-speed sensors, cleared the faults and road tested it. The owner confirmed after: reverse sensors working, reverse camera working, power steering working, and the alarm messages did not come back. Electrical repair, backed by an at least 6 months warranty.

A vibration that only shows up above 60km/h? Here is what it turned out to be. πŸ‘‡

This Mercedes GLB 200 had a vibration on impact over 60km/h that eased off when slowing to 50. The owner suspected the steering rack and asked the right question: will you check first before changing anything?

That is exactly how we work. Our technician checked the car and confirmed it: a faulty steering rack. Only then did we recommend replacing it and give a price.

We dropped the subframe to reach the rack, fitted a new one, then road tested it. Vibration gone. A part replaced only after the fault was confirmed, not on a hunch.

One trip on the lift, three jobs sorted. πŸ‘‡

This Toyota Corolla Altis came in with a gearbox that needed an overhaul. While it was up on the lift, we also spotted a split CV joint boot throwing grease, and an engine oil leak.

Instead of one job at a time, we did all three in one visit. Full gearbox overhaul, new driveshaft boot and CV joint, and the oil leak traced and fixed. Refilled, road tested and handed back.

The gearbox overhaul is backed by our 2 year / 40,000km warranty. We show you every issue, quote each item, and you decide what to do.

Gear stuck at 4 and the car slipping? Don't keep driving on it. πŸ‘‡

This Lexus GS300 came in stuck in gear 4 with the gearbox slipping. We opened the gearbox and found the cause: worn clutch packs inside, plus a failed torque converter. A fluid change was never going to bring those back.

So we did it properly. Full gearbox overhaul, new torque converter, refilled with the correct ATF and road tested. The car shifts cleanly again, backed by our 2 year / 40,000km gearbox overhaul warranty.

We check first, then quote before any work begins. No guesswork.
