1) It is normal to see some smoke or burnt smell initially. Brand new wraps have a layer of wax coating during production. Some anti rust spray we used during installation can cause it too. So it is normal when used for the first few times on a hot pipe.

2) During installation, the tough fiber may irritate your skin. Wear long sleeve to minimize it. The irritation will be gone within after few days. Alternatively, you can engage our installation service at your carpark.
