This Mercedes C200 came in for an aircon service today, and we found something interesting 👀

The wrong aircon gas had been added before.

A lot of drivers don’t know this, but cars commonly use different types of aircon refrigerant — R-134a and R-1234yf.

They’re not the same, and you shouldn’t simply mix them.

Wrong gas can affect your aircon performance and make future servicing more troublesome.

Renewed your COE? 🚗

Your car has another 10 years to go. Make sure the engine can keep up.

If it burns oil, smokes on start-up or has lost its pull, a full overhaul resets the engine: from $2,000, with a 1-year/20,000km warranty and a 3 to 5 working day turnaround. Compare that to $8,000 to $12,000 for a replacement engine elsewhere.

Gearbox acting up? This is what a real overhaul looks like. 🔧

This BMW M6 came in with a gearbox issue. On inspection the engine was affected too, so both came down for a full overhaul, done in-house at our workshop. In the next bay, a Toyota Hiace gearbox getting the same treatment.

Big jobs are our daily work, continental and Japanese alike. If your car has engine or gearbox trouble, message us and we will tell you straight what it needs.

Aircon blows freezing cold... then suddenly warm? 🥶

That on-off pattern is usually not the gas. It is the expansion valve icing over, a small part that meters refrigerant into your cooling coil.

If a regas did not fix it, this is the next thing to check. Most replacements are done the same day.
