Understanding headlamp condensation

After a new headlamp or bulb has been installed, it is normal for small water droplets to appear on the inside of the headlamp lens, particularly after a car wash or during periods of rainy or humid weather. This condition is often mistaken for a defective headlamp.

These fine water droplets do not enter from outside the headlamp. Instead, they are caused by condensation, where the moisture naturally present inside the headlamp condenses on the cooler inner surface of the lens due to changes in temperature.

This is a normal characteristic of headlamp ventilation and does not indicate a product defect. The condensation will gradually dissipate as the headlamps generate heat during normal driving. In some cases, it may take up to one week for the condensation to clear completely, depending on the surrounding weather conditions.

If you received a new starter motor that has different no. of teeth. First is to ensure replacement starter is correctly specified for your vehicle.

The decisive factor here is not the actual number of teeth, but the shift of the distance between the starter pinion and the ring gear on the vehicle. Depending on the starter pinion, the pinion shaft shifts higher or lower in relation to the starter ring gear.

The difference only becomes visible by looking at the bearing bell.

So if the objective is to replace a starter with 11 teeth with one featuring 12, the pinion shaft is moved further away from the ring gear. The point of contact of both pinions, starter and ring gear remains identical despite the different number of teeth.

This means that if a starter with a different number of teeth is supplied as a replacement , it can be installed without any issues – provided the vehicle has been correctly assigned.

*Is 0W-20 detroying engines?*
Short answer is "No".
- 0W-20 is safe when it’s the manufacturer’s recommended oil. It extends engine life by 45%, reduces wear by 60%, improves fuel economy by 6-8%.
- Problems usually come from using the wrong oil, heavy driving conditions, oil consumption issues, or poor maintenance.
- Only consider thicker oil if your engine allows it or under extreme/high-mileage conditions.
👉 Bottom line: Use what your manual recommends and maintain your car properly.

*Is 0W-20 good for hot weather?*
Yes—0W-20 is generally fine in hot weather if your engine is designed for it.
- The “20” rating means it still provides proper protection at operating temperature.
- All major car manufacturers test it in their engines in extreme heat.
- Issues only arise with heavy stress (towing, racing), high heat engines, or worn engines.
👉 Bottom line: Hot climate alone is not a problem for 0W-20.

*What happens if i don't use VW 502-00 oil?*
- VW 502.00 is required for proper protection in many Volkswagen petrol engines.
- Not using it won’t cause instant failure, but can lead to issues over time.
- Risks include more engine wear, sludge buildup, and possible turbo damage.
- Better-quality oils close to spec may be okay short-term, but cheap or wrong oils increase risk.
- It can also void your warranty if applicable.
👉 Bottom line: You can get away with it briefly, but long-term it’s safer to use VW 502.00-approved oil.

🚗 Morning Jerks When Driving? Your Transmission Might Just Be “Waking Up”
🔧 The Technical Reasons
- Electronics & Humidity: In Singapore’s climate, condensation can form inside the transmission’s Mechatronics unit, disrupting sensor signals.
- Cold Fluid: Transmission fluid is thicker when cold, slowing hydraulic response and clutch engagement.
🌡️ Why Warming Up Matters
- Fluid viscosity: Cold fluid delays smooth engagement.
- Clutch packs & seals: These expand slightly as they warm, improving smoothness and reducing slip.
- Adaptive logic: Modern gearboxes adjust shift patterns once sensors detect optimal
- fluid temperature.
✅ Best Practice Before Driving Off
- Start the engine and let it idle for 30–60 seconds to circulate oil through the gearbox.
- Drive gently for the first few kilometers — light load warms the transmission faster than idling.
- Avoid hard acceleration or manual shift modes until the gearbox reaches operating temperature.
(Some manufacturers even program transmissions to hold lower gears longer when cold to help warm the fluid.)
🇸🇬 Why Singapore Makes It Worse
Short trips and stop‑start traffic mean the transmission rarely reaches ideal temperature. This accelerates sludge buildup and seal hardening.
🛡️ Prevention
- Check transmission fluid every 60,000 km.
- Always use the specified fluid

Say Goodbye to Porsche PDK Sensor Failures!

For your Information:
Owners with models 997, 991, Cayman, and Boxster (981) have had some pretty scary situations where they have had a gearbox fault that sends the car into limp home mode, or renders it completely undrivable. This can be due to a faulty distance sensor or displacement sensor within the PDK transmission itself. The message you will have seen on your Porsche will read, “Transm. fault. Poss. no R gear. Drive on poss.”

We proudly offers an advanced solution to the dreaded PDK distance sensor failure affecting Porsche 911, Cayman, and Boxster models (997, 991, 981, 718). If your car shows gearbox fault messages or codes P1731–P1735, there’s no need for an expensive transmission replacement. Our 100% new T-Design distance sensor—built with modern 2021 electronics—replaces outdated factory parts (0501325775, 0501327105, 0501324703). This repair restores full gearbox function, eliminates limp mode, and ensures reliable shifting performance.

0B5 7-SPEED WET DUAL-CLUTCH TRANSMISSION is the most common gearbox in Audi cars, but also the one with the highest failure rate. It is mainly using in Audi A4, A5, A6, A7, S5, S7 and Q5.Basically, when an Audi vehicle equipped with 0B5 gearbox has traveled about 100k kilometers, the following 2 common faults will occur:1) The instrument panel indicates a gearbox malfunction and the vehicle suddenly loses odd or even number of gears while driving. This is generally caused by corrosion on the surface of the gearbox circuit board wiring plug resulting in poor circuit contact;2) The transmission enters the automatic lock mode which makes the car unable to accelerate and increases fuel consumption. this is usually caused by wear of the solenoid valve, causing the change in controlling oil pressure of the valve body.If your car encounters the above problems, it can be easily solved by replacing a set of VIKA transmission circuit board and solenoid valve.VIKA gearbox circuit board was replaced with an improved cable, and the plug as upgraded to phosphor bronze, which effectively avoided chemical reaction with the transmission oil and caused corrosion, and completely solved the cable malfunction.VIKA transmission solenoid valve is produced by a factory with OEM qualifications. The product quality is consistent with OE and the performance is more stable.VIKA transmission circuit board and solenoid valve set - Complete set replacement provides you with a one-stop solution to gearbox malfunction and saves maintenance costs.
