An early NA1 Type R, immediately identifiable by its original wheels, and finished in the rarely seen Berlina Black. While most examples left the factory in Championship White, this specification offers a far more understated take on Honda’s ultimate lightweight machine.

First registered in May 1993 in Kanagawa, Japan, through Honda Clio Yokosuka, this car retains its original Honda warranty booklet, along with inspection and service records documenting its early life.

Step inside and you are greeted by the now-iconic cockpit, often said to be inspired by an F16 fighter jet. It is a space built entirely around the driver, made even more special when you remember the famous footage of Ayrton Senna pushing an NA1R to its limits at Suzuka.

The 2003 NA2 Type R represents the final evolution. Now powered by a 3.2-litre V6 paired with a 6-speed gearbox, it delivers a more resolved yet equally focused driving experience. This example also retains the factory airbag option, a rarely seen detail on Type Rs.

Both cars are intrinsically linked to icons of Japanese performance, shaped through development work influenced by Ayrton Senna and later immortalised in driving culture by Keiichi Tsuchiya.

Last month, we found ourselves amongst the presence of a legend. This Porsche 962 (chassis 143), an ex–Team Schuppan car, was famously driven in 1989 by Jean Alesi, Will Hoy and Dominic Dobson.

Today, it lives alongside an extraordinarily exclusive collection, which also happens to be the secure home for our customer’s European cars under our care.
