A coating or PPF can have a long warranty, but that does not mean it is maintenance-free.

Think of your car itself. A brand-new car may come with a 5-year or even 10-year warranty, but the manufacturer still requires periodic servicing and maintenance. You wouldn’t expect to drive it for 10 years without servicing it just because it has a 10-year warranty.

The same principle applies to paint coating and PPF.

Over time, the protective surface is exposed to Singapore’s heat, UV, rain, mineral deposits, road grime, bird droppings, tree sap, chemicals and repeated washing. Regular maintenance removes contamination, checks the condition of the protection and addresses problems before they become more serious.

Warranty = how long the product is covered under stated conditions.
Maintenance = how you help keep the product performing properly throughout that period.

A 5- or 10-year warranty should never automatically be interpreted as “do nothing for 5 or 10 years.”
