Whether the trend will continue or not, most OEMs are taking back control of their sales process and sell vehicles directly to their customers through fully owned sales representatives, branches, or showrooms.

The traditional dealership business model has been dying out in the recent years with brands such as Polestar and Tesla but even Volvo in Sweden buying out its own dealers in order to challenge the standard business model."
