🚗 5 things to know before renting a car in Madeira 🇵🇹
What does “full insurance” actually mean? 👀
Because “full insurance” can mean very different things depending on the rental company.
Some policies still leave you with a big excess. Some don’t cover tyres or wheels. Others exclude glass or certain types of damage.
And you usually only discover this when something actually happens… which is not exactly how you want to spend your holiday!
At Vanity Blend, this is something we deliberately keep simple.
🛡️ Full insurance included
🚫 No excess
🪟 Glass covered
🛞 Tyres & rims covered
💶 No security deposit
🛣️ Unlimited kms
We’d much rather you know exactly what you’re getting before you arrive.
And a few other little things worth knowing about driving in Madeira:
⛰️ Madeira is VERY hilly — if you’re not used to steep roads, an automatic can make life much easier.
🚗 Don’t always go for the smallest/cheapest car. A little extra power can make a big difference on the mountain roads.
✈️ Check how airport collection works, especially if you’re arriving late.
💰 And most importantly, don’t compare rental prices until you’ve compared what’s included.
A cheap daily rate isn’t necessarily the cheapest rental in the end.
Enjoy the island, drive safely and have a brilliant holiday! ☀️🇵🇹
