The Lambretta had been imported into Britain in small numbers in the late 1940s but with very little success. Les Ashton, however, believed it had a future and set up Continental Motorcycles Limited to become the first concession in the country. Without his vision, the Lambretta story in Britain may never have happened the way it did, so to him we are truly thankful.
