1st Blue Marlin for the 2026 season in Madeira Island, caught by Captain David & crew! A 850+ beast, caught on 50lbs stand-up gear, for a 74 year old gentleman from Hungary. It was a 3 hour and 40 minute battle, backing up with the boat for 7.87 nautical miles. This photo was taken around 10 seconds before releasing the fish, so it was released very much alive.

I haven´t posted in so long simply because i´m fishing everyday, and have such little time for anything else. But wanted to share our exellent day fishing yesterday! On our 3rd real day just targeting Marlin we had our first Blue of the season. 650lb. beauty that we got to the boat in 17 minutes. Ryan did a hell of a job in the chair on his biggest fish of his life to the day! .davidfishingmadeira
