3D printing is no longer just about prototyping.
In the defence sector, additive manufacturing is increasingly becoming a real production technology - enabling faster development, complex geometries and greater flexibility in responding to manufacturing needs.
At New Era Materials, we see even greater potential in combining additive manufacturing with advanced composite materials. Through our Fibometry brand, we bring industrial 3D printing capabilities together with our expertise in advanced composites, creating solutions that can be applied across a wide range of defence and dual-use applications.
Our capabilities cover both polymer and metal 3D printing, allowing us to support projects at different stages - from the first prototype and design optimisation to functional components and series production.
Our technologies include:
🔹 SLS and MJF – for strong, lightweight and geometrically complex polymer components
🔹 FDM/FFF and SLA/DLP – for prototyping and specialised components
🔹 DMLS/SLM – for industrial metal 3D printing
We are currently placing a particular focus on metal additive manufacturing. Our technology park has been expanded with an advanced EOS industrial system featuring four lasers and a 400 × 400 × 400 mm build volume. This enables us to work with demanding engineering materials such as Inconel, aluminium alloys, steels and titanium, and to produce components with complex geometries and high performance requirements.
But the real opportunity lies in combining technologies.
By bringing together advanced composites and additive manufacturing, we can explore solutions that offer the advantages of both technologies — from lightweight and high-strength structures to complex, functional components and integrated assemblies.
This combination is particularly relevant for dual-use applications, where the same technologies and manufacturing capabilities can serve both defence and civilian industries.
