Have you ever heard of Bosch Motronic? 🤔
When it was launched in 1979, Motronic, a digital engine control system, was the world’s first use of a computer in a car in a driving-relevant role. 💻🚘 It controlled the amount of fuel injected, the ignition timing, and other parameters by using a large number of criteria, for example gas pedal position and engine temperature, which had to be recalculated for every ignition process. This helped, among other things, to reduce fuel consumption.
Already 45 years ago, it was our aim to become a forerunner in the area of car software and computers. And we're constantly working towards enhancing convenience in the vehicle and increasing safety for all road users. Our expectation is that generative AI will be a boost to innovation here. Stay tuned for some exciting news from BCW, our Bosch ConnectedWorld AIoT conference, that will take place next week on February 28 and 29! 🚀
