Researchers at Monash University in Australia have introduced ultra-fast-charging lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries that could revolutionize long-range electric vehicles and flying air taxis.
These batteries boast nearly double the energy density of traditional lithium-ion batteries, delivering an impressive 400 Wh/kg compared to the 150-235 Wh/kg range of lithium-ion technology.
With this higher energy density, Li-S batteries could extend the range of electric vehicles to an astonishing 600 miles (1,000 km), marking a significant step forward in the shift toward electrified transportation.
