An angle kit is a powerful tool — but only when it’s set up correctly.

Here are 3 of the most common mistakes that can kill the potential of even the best setup:

1️⃣ Missing a thrust-bearing upper spring perch
Running without a thrust bearing leads to steering bind, spring jumping, and unstable suspension behavior. A uniball in the top mount is not a rotational bearing — without a proper thrust-bearing perch, the system simply won’t work as intended.

2️⃣ Chasing more angle instead of proper geometry
More steering angle doesn’t automatically mean better control. Incorrect Ackermann, improper camber, or wrong ride height can cause the car to lose stability and control at full lock.

3️⃣ Incorrect steering limits
Lack of proper steering limiters can cause the wheel to contact the chassis, tie rods, or brake lines. An angle kit should operate within a safe, controlled range — not at the edge of mechanical interference.

👉 A good angle kit is one thing. A proper setup is another.
Take care of both — and the difference will be massive.

For proper operation of FAT Billet Angle Kits, coilovers must be equipped with an upper spring perch with integrated thrust bearing, as used in suspensions from brands like BC Racing, ISC, XYZ, and YellowSpeed.
If your coilovers do not have this component or the 18 mm pin for uniball mounting, this part is an essential addition that ensures smooth, consistent steering feel and full control of the suspension.

Our spring perches are designed for springs with a minimum inner diameter of 61 mm and are available in the following variants:
• Ø14 mm – M14x1.5 thread
• Ø14 mm – M12x1.25 thread
• Ø12 mm – M12x1.25 thread
