PEC through its ADR Division, in collaboration with SAAROSH ADR Centre, successfully organized an Awareness Workshop on Construction Dispute Resolution at PEC Headquarters, Islamabad on 8 September 2026.

In his Welcome Address, Engr. Muhammad Sohail Khan, Head Corporate & ADR Division, outlined PECโ€™s strategic roadmap to operationalize its National ADR Centre by the end of 2026, initially addressing domestic construction disputes and subsequently expanding into international dispute resolution. He emphasized mediation as a key component of PECโ€™s Standard Bidding Documents and called for a strong pool of qualified arbitrators and mediators.

Chief Guest Engr. Waseem Nazir, Chairman PEC, emphasized the urgent need to move from prolonged litigation toward efficient, institutional ADR.

The initiative aims to align Pakistanโ€™s construction dispute-resolution ecosystem with international best practices and institutions including ICC, LCIA, SIAC, HKIAC, CiArb CIETAC and ICSID.

PEC is building the bridge from construction disputes to constructive resolution.
