BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), achieved a milestone month in July 2026 by delivering 419,211 vehicles globally. This outstanding performance represents a 21.8% increase compared to the same month last year and highlights a 3.9% gain over June’s numbers. The robust performance marks the company's third consecutive month of year-on-year growth, demonstrating a powerhouse resurgence and narrowing previous year-to-date declines caused by temporary factory line restructuring earlier in the year.
Overseas shipments of BYD’s passenger vehicles and pickups surged by an astonishing 124.3% year-on-year to hit a record-breaking 179,841 units, meaning that exports comprised roughly 43% of the group's total monthly sales volume. Meanwhile, domestic wholesale operations reached around 239,370 units; though this reflects a 9% year-on-year decrease in China, it represents a significantly narrower decline than in previous months. Part of this stabilization is credited to BYD overcoming manufacturing line bottlenecks as it successfully completed the transition to its second-generation Blade Battery.
On a broader chronological scale, BYD’s year-to-date cumulative sales from January to July 2026 now stand at 2,227,722 NEVs. While this full-year pace remains about 10.5% lower than the corresponding seven-month stretch from last year, the company’s strong mid-year rally is steadily closing that gap. With overall cumulative NEV sales now surpassing 17.3 million total units, the global automaker continues to solidify its footprint across emerging markets.
