For almost two decades, MRO fought for this simple principle… an aftermarket muffler is not automatically an illegal muffler…
Today, that fight finally sees the light of day…
The LTO has now put it in writing… the mere installation or use of an aftermarket muffler is not, by itself, sufficient ground for apprehension or issuance of a TOP, provided the motorcycle complies with the prescribed 99 dB limit and is not using an open-pipe exhaust system…
This is more than a memorandum…
The paper issued by LTO can now be used to adjudicate apprehensions made by LGU’s…
No ordinance can supercede national laws…
This is almost 20 years of advocacy, persistence, and standing up for riders finally becoming policy…
MRO fought for this… and we will continue fighting for what is right… fair enforcement, due process, and equal protection for every rider... 🏍️✊
