We start with OBD (on board diagnostics - such as using the FCAR F7SG or the THINKTOOL Master X Plus) to remove the guesswork, but we finish with the skill and training that only decades of diesel experience can provide.

It’s always a good feeling when we have the newer (and very clean!) Nissan Patrol Y61 ZD30 in the shop, especially right after we posted about the older models.

It proves one thing: Whether your Patrol is running a classic mechanical pump or today’s high-pressure Common-Rail system, Central Diesel is the place you trust to fix it.

What’s under the hood today?

We are dealing with a complex Common-Rail system that pushes fuel pressure up to 1,800 bar. That is a far cry from the old inline pumps, and it requires top-tier diagnostic and repair test benches.

We plugged in our Thinktool Master X and found the faults:
❌ Fuel pressure regulation issues
❌ EGR malfunctions
❌ Brake switch faults

We love a challenge, and we love that our clients—from classic collectors to modern daily drivers—put their faith in us. It pushes us to keep learning and expanding our expertise for vehicles like the mighty Nissan Patrol.

Old school and new school under one roof.

We've got a legendary TD42 Y60 Nissan Safari waiting its turn, while a Y61 ZD30 Patrol's Bosch VP44 pump gets the royal treatment on our automated calibration bench.

The Y61 Nissan Patrol/Super Safari rely on the VP44 injection pump—a highly sophisticated injection pump that demands specialized equipment for authorized repair. Central Diesel is one of the few shops that can get these pumps running exactly as the factory intended.

A great diagnostic session with Pedro from Pedro Wheels Philippines today!

We tackled a Chevrolet Captiva that was showing serious faults pointing to the turbo, throttle flap and more. Instead of selling him a new turbo, we traced it to a burned-out wire in the harness (thanks to age and vibration). After repairing that short, the faults cleared and stayed gone.

Pedro drove off happy, and we saved a ton of money on unnecessary parts. 🤝
