If your car went through flood water this week, here's what to actually do — step by step 👇

1️⃣ Don't start the engine — water in the engine can cause serious internal damage
2️⃣ Have it towed, don't attempt to drive it, even short distances
3️⃣ Take photos of everything before any cleaning you'll want this for insurance
4️⃣ Get it inspected within 24–48 hours mold sets in fast in our humidity
5️⃣ Have the interior professionally dried and decontaminated — floodwater often carries dirt, sewage, and bacteria that regular cleaning won't fully remove

Floodwater doesn't just sit on the surface. It gets into everything. 😔

If water reached your floorboards or higher — do NOT start your engine. Have it towed instead. Starting a flooded engine can turn water damage into a totaled car in seconds.

Please stay safe out there. Avoid flooded roads, and never attempt to cross moving water on foot or in a vehicle.
