J U N E M E D I A F E A T U R E : Auto Shots

1. Who is & why the name, “Auto Shots”?

"Back in 2019, the idea was simply to take shots of automobiles or cars, hence the name “Auto Shots”. In 2021, I realized most of my shots were taken in auto mode, so I started researching and learning more about photography to improve my craft, if not become the best at it. Today, “Auto Shots” represents the ability to automatically take shots whenever and wherever."

2. When did the love for Photography/Videography start?

"It all started in 2019 when my sister had a Canon 650D paired with a 50mm f/1.8 prime lens. Since I’ve always loved cars, I tried using it and eventually fell in love with photography. To this day, I’m still using the same camera, now paired with a 35mm f/1.4 prime lens."

3. Who & what are your inspirations for your work?

"Back then, my main inspiration was supporting the automotive community by taking photos of everyone’s cars. During my learning process, I also came to appreciate and draw inspiration from the work of Alex Penfold."

4. Do you have a particular style, preference & process when you shoot & edit?

"I don’t really follow one specific style. It usually depends on the mood and atmosphere of the event, which influences how the photo turns out. For post-processing, I prefer keeping things simple, straightforward, and as close as possible to what the eyes naturally see."

5. What services & merchandise do you offer?

"None. I’m mainly doing this out of passion for cars and to support the community."

6. Any advice for the other Automotive Media?

"Maximize whatever device or equipment you currently have. It doesn’t matter whether it’s expensive or not. Passion and consistency will help you achieve great results."

7. To you, what is a CLEAN BUILD?

"A clean build is something built with passion, intention, and a clear vision toward an end goal. It’s something that reflects your own preferences while still leaving a strong impression and identity for the build itself."
