We have done it again and again and again and again! Daring projects! This time, a very powerful Nissan Patrol Super Safari.

If it has too much power, what modification comes next? Stopping power!

Client-provided big brake kit, custom dogbone conversion, front and rear. We took the measurements, worked out the fitment, fabricated the adapters, got the components installed, and voilà.

But projects like this are never just “measure, fabricate, install.” Kung dito pa lang sa big brake kit, kailangan maintindihan yung exact rotor placement inside the caliper, hanggang saan talaga yung brake pad contact sa rotor, and how the dogbone positions the caliper.

Kapag slightly off yung dogbone, puwedeng masyadong pumasok, lumabas, or even lean yung caliper. That can affect rotor clearance, brake pad contact, and even cause repeated contact or noise. Kaya minsan may portion na kailangang i-shave, adjust, or ibalik for another round of machining. If you think it’s just an adapter, it’s not. It dictates where the entire caliper sits against the rotor and how the setup behaves under hard braking.

Did learn a few more things from this project that I’ll be using for future builds. Some projects get completed. Some projects make you better for the next one.

GAC M8 big brake kit installation. Bbk should have been plug and play sa front and rear.

Noong nag-install kami sa rear, we noticed na hindi fully maximized yung brake pad contact sa rotor. There was at least 10 mm of the brake pad na hindi nagagamit.

To correct this, we calculated the required adjustment and modified the rear dogbone adapter para bumaba yung caliper to the correct position.

What was achieved? Full brake pad contact sa rear rotor. Instead of leaving 10 mm of the brake pad unused, we were able to maximize the full brake pad contact area.

For this modification, the rear works as two components: one for the main brakes and one for the EPB or electronic parking brake.

If you’re interested in this project, provide your own big brake kit, either front only or a complete front and rear setup. Get it scheduled with the shop. We only accept scheduled appointments. Client provided the BBK and components. Owner trusted us with the installation and modification.

Client messaged the shop and told us he needs a custom braided brake line made for his Chevrolet Colorado.

BTW, this brake line came all the way from Mindanao! That far! So we’re taking the custom measurements, installing the correct fittings, and once done, sending it all the way back to the owner.

Will also be sending a tutorial video for the installation to make sure everything is installed correctly. Salamat kaayo, sir, sa pagpili sa among shop!

CLIENT-PROVIDED DRL INSTALLATION | MITSUBISHI MIRAGE

→ Removed the front bumper
→ Installed and laid out the plug-in wiring
→ Modified trim stock cap to fit the DRL
→ Installed the complete DRL assembly and housing
→ Reinstalled all removed components
→ Torqued the wheels
→ Completed within half a day

For anyone who’s interested, we accept client-provided DRL and lighting installations. If may kailangan na bumper removal, wiring, bracket work, or minor modification para sa proper fitment, message the shop with your vehicle model and the components you already have.

Another CX-60. This is the second one we’ve seen with a similar concern, and I don’t think it’s a coincidence anymore. Both clients came to the shop reporting that the vehicle was pulling. After getting the suspension properly dialed in and set up, the issue was resolved.

We got both concerns resolved using the coilovers the clients already brought to the shop. We worked with what they had, got everything set in motion, and corrected the setup from there.

So, what coilover can we recommend for the Mazda CX-60?

If it’s a coilover that will be installed and set up by us, we would recommend the Blitz Damper ZZ-R DSC Plus with the electronic damping system. We’ve worked with this setup before and haven’t encountered any major issues with it.

Mas complicated lang ang ZZ-R DSC Plus compared to a regular coilover because aside from the mechanical installation, kailangan din i-install and set up properly yung electronic damping system. May motors, wiring, control unit, and electronic damper settings pa na kailangan mag-work together. Kapag may isang part na hindi tama ang installation or settings, puwedeng iba rin yung response at feel ng suspension sa road.

Kung installation man, ride height settings, suspension geometry, alignment, o electronic damper settings ang naging factor sa pulling concern, I can’t say for sure. It could be one of them or a combination of different settings. What we do know is that after the suspension was properly dialed in and set up, the concern was resolved.

For anyone who’s interested, we don’t sell the coilovers. Those electronically adjustable, motorized coilovers were supplied by the clients.
