Client brought in a set of camber plates for his KW V1 setup. Problem was, the assembly was missing a small but important component, the upper spring seat/interface between the spring and top mount. Madalas akala ng iba bolt-on agad lahat, but suspension assemblies rely on specific load paths and contact surfaces. Since naiintindihan namin paano naglo-load and rotate yung suspension assembly, gumawa kami ng proper piece for the setup instead of forcing the spring directly against the mount.

What people need to understand is the top mount and spring seat are two different things. The top mount bolts the suspension to the chassis, while the spring seat is what centers and supports the spring properly during compression and steering movement. Kapag diretsong spring agad sa mount without the proper interface, possible magkaroon ng binding, noise, uneven load distribution, or premature wear over time.

Small parts like these usually get overlooked because hindi sila agad nakikita externally. But in suspension work, maliit na detail can completely change how the system behaves long-term. Proper seating, proper load distribution, and correct suspension travel matter just as much as the coilover itself.

I’ll be posting more about this once the coilover is fully installed on the car. Honda FD K24 running KW V1 FSURM.

We’ve talked about the old Honda EG and the Mercedes wagon. Ngayon, balik naman tayo sa something more modern. The Honda Civic RS.

A few months ago, one of the first issues was the front bumper fitment. Yung gap between the bumper and fender sobrang noticeable because the bumper was starting to sag. So we installed left and right quick-release brackets with custom mounting points to help support the weight and pull the fitment back in properly.

After a few months, bumalik ulit yung kotse. This time, may gap naman between the headlight and grille. Because of the the weight sa harap over time. So we added more support brackets behind the front bumper and reinforced the mounting areas para mas kaya niyang hawakan yung load. Once na-support nang maayos, bumalik ulit sa proper fitment yung harap.

After sorting the fitment, we moved to the hood scoop area. We fabricated a plate underneath to help prevent water from going directly into the engine bay while still leaving a small opening for airflow. We also replaced the plastic engine cover with aluminum. Based sa previous setup ng owner, sobrang init ng engine bay to the point na may portions ng plastic cover na nagsisimulang matunaw. Plastic can only handle so much heat.

Next step now is connecting the upper plate from the hood scoop towards the lower section to help guide airflow and release heat better. More on actual observation pa siya for now, but that’s the direction of the setup.

So this is the before and after. Yung before nasa top photo, and below is the updated new brackets. Yung previous bracket medyo bulky, so tinanggal namin and replaced it with something that can properly hold the intercooler in place. Left and right custom brackets ginawa for the intercooler, and same approach for the transmission cooler.

As mentioned sa previous post, hindi maikabit yung front bumper dahil may tinatamaan na portions, kaya medyo exposed yung front ng sasakyan. Inayos namin yung brackets and rods, then reinforced the mounting points. That gave more clearance sa intercooler and transmission cooler, and after that, nakabit na rin nang maayos yung front bumper.

If you’ve seen the services we do on other cars, we can offer the same approach for your setup. Hindi pa ito final, may gagawin pa kami next to finish the brackets, either spray paint o powdercoat.
