Sharing these tips. If you’re gonna bring your car to car wash/auto spa, we highly recommend bringing your own wash mitt and drying towel. Proper washing and maintenance is the key to prolonging your car’s paintwork.
5 MOST COMMON MISTAKES TO AVOID WHEN WASHING A CAR
We all made these mistakes at least once!
Since detailing is a constant learning process, let's go over the 5 most common mistakes when washing a car:
1. Always wash your car from top to bottom and once your wash-mitt went over the lower section of a panel, never go back up! As mentioned previously, make sure to use the 2 buckets method, and rinse your mitt after each panel.
2. While cleaning wheels always work one wheel at a time. Do not spray chemicals on all 4 wheels and let it dwell and dry on the surface while you finish the first wheel. Work on 1 or maximum 2 wheels that you have in your vision at the same time.
3. We suggest always start your wash procedure with your wheels. But it important to not rinse your car before starting your wheels procedure. Why?
Cleaning all 4 wheels properly will take you about 30min - you don't want to let water sitting on the paintwork for no reason - wash all your wheels and then rinse your car- not the other way around.
4. Try to not wash your car in direct sunlight and most importantly make sure the paintwork & wheels are cool to the touch before starting any washing procedure. Mostly on black cars, water or chemicals leave deposits behind when sprayed or let to sit on a hot surface.
5. Avoid water blade squeegees, chamois, and various scratchy sponges. They might speed-up certain processes, however, they leave an incredible amount of defects on your paintwork!
Always use dedicated microfibre wash-mitt and drying towels.
