LOOK: As part of the Kaligtasan sa Kalsada (KSK) program, a brainchild of Regional Director Francisco P. Ranches Jr., CESO VI, LTO will be launching a new project that will intensify information dissemination among the public - the ALERTO LTO: SMS Notification for Bikolano Road Users.

The ALERTO LTO project aims to reach Bikolano motorists with short and quick reminders on registration schedule, license transaction tips, road safety reminders, public advisories, and announcements that will be sent via SMS. To register to the service, clients may sign up in any LTO office, provide their cellphone number and sign on a participant agreement form.

This project banks on the fact that there are about 168 million mobile subscribers in the Philippines*, and those who live in remote areas need only minimal cellular signal in order to receive SMS texts.

This project is in partnership with the Globe Labs AMBER Service which is an online web-based SMS Application that will allow LTO to broadcast messages to a pre-registered recipient base, all at the same time.

The ALERTO LTO project is a part of Regional Director Francisco P. Ranches Jr.'s vision to educate the public on road safety and on LTO's mandates and transactions.
