began when its enterprising founder Chiu Bun Gim moved from China to the Philippines in 1947. Together with some friends, they started a trading business in 1954 that they eventually named Koronadal Hardware and Auto Supply Company (KHASCO). When KHASCO closed down in 1961 due to the implementation of the government’s nationalization policy, Chiu Kim Enterprises (CKE) was establish and engaged on
wholesale venture. It had successfully set-up links with retailers to 11 municipalities in four provinces, thus giving birth to the other businesses initiated by the siblings, one of which is the Viajero Motorsales, Inc. As the business steadily grew, Chiu Bun Gim got actively involved in community projects, becoming the president of Marbel Lions Club, president of Koronadal Anglo-Chinese School (KACS) and become one of the founders of Chinese Youth Association which aimed at developing the full potential of Filipino-Chinese youth. He had donated seed money for the Koronadal Filipino-Chinese Fire-Fighters Incorporated that was being headed initially by his son Joseph Chiu as the Fire Marshal. Just as his era has ended, Chiu Bun Gim’s six children continue his legacy enthused with strong commitment, integrity, perseverance, trustworthiness, hardwork, prudence, frugality integrated with Christian values.
