LTFRB DAVAO LAUNCHES MORE MODERNIZED PUBLIC UTILITY VEHICLES (MPUV) IN DAVAO DEL SUR
SULOP, DAVAO DEL SUR– Digos Padada Transport Cooperative (DIPATRANSCO) formally introduced on December 18, 2023, eleven (11) Modernized Public Utility Jeepney Class 2 units that are set to ply the route Zone III, Digos City to Poblacion, Malalag & vice versa.
This milestone is through the collective initiative of DIPATRANSCO in solidifying the realization of the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP), which seeks to provide Filipinos with effective and efficient transportation in the province.
The launching was graced by the Chairperson of Cooperative Development Authority Usec. Joseph B. Encabo together with LTFRB Davao Regional Director Nonito Llanos III, DIPATRANSCO Chairperson Salvador Codilla, DIPATRANSCO members, and government officials of the Province of Davao del Sur and its municipalities, creating yet another significant point in the public transportation scene of the province.
In welcoming this remarkable event in public transportation, Sulop Municipal Mayor, Atty. Jose Jimmy Sagarino delivered the opening address. Mr. Gouldmark Salacut and Mr. Allan Gabucan represented D Limitless Vehicle Ventures Corp., Distributors of FUSO, OIC of Land Bank of the Philippines - Davao del Sur Lending Center Mr. Ricardo Jamorabon III, and Special Assistant to the Provincial Governor Mr. Marc Douglas Cagas IV were also present to show their support for the said endeavor.
In his speech, Usec. Encabo conveyed his appreciation for this significance in public land transportation. “Ang pag-modernize (sa transportasyon) kay para sa sumusunod na henerasyon; kita dapat mu-adopt sa Modernization Program,” Usec. Encabo expressed.
In closing, RD Don Llanos acknowledged DIPATRANSCO for their steadfast dedication to PUVMP. “We are not competing with lower denominations, but we are offering an option that is Sebisyong CASSA (Comfortable, Accessible, Safe, Sustainable, and Affordable)", RD Llanos said.
The PUVMP is set to improve the system of public transportation of the country, not only for riders but also for drivers and operators so that they can have an adequate and dignified livelihood.
