🚨 This might ruffle a few feathers, but let’s talk facts.
The biggest threat to the car rental industry in Iloilo isn’t LTO checkpoints, weather conditions, or fuel prices, It’s LOWBALLING.
Yes, LOWBALLERS, the ones offering rock-bottom prices just to close a deal, without thinking long-term. It’s not competition, it’s self-destruction in disguise.
Let’s break it down: Car rental is not just about lending a vehicle. It’s about responsibility, keeping the unit safe, legal, and roadworthy.
And that comes with real costs:
* Monthly amortizations
* Preventive maintenance
* Insurance
* Business permits
* Emergency repairs
* Cleanliness, service, and client safety
But LOWBALLERS? They throw all of that out the window for the sake of a quick booking, no calculations, no sustainability, just panic pricing.
And the problem is, it hurts everyone. It cheapens the value of legitimate operators, It sets unrealistic expectations for renters, And worst of all, it kills trust in the entire industry.
We're now seeing an oversupply of car rentals, and the number of renters hasn't changed. And because of that imbalance, some start cutting corners just to survive, not realizing they’re digging their own grave.
What happens next?
🚗 Cars repossessed
🏦 Banks knocking
🔧 Units stuck in the casa
📉 No profit, no growth, no future
All because of one thing: LOWBALLING.
So to the professional car rental owners out there:
Stay firm.
Stay legit.
Let’s not compete in a race to the bottom.
Let’s compete in service, safety, and sustainability.
And to the LOWBALLERS: You’re not undercutting the competition, you’re cutting your own future short.
