This day, a customer contacted us for experiencing difficult in shifting gears. After the diagnosis the technician said that the clutch lining, pressure plate and the release bearing needs to be replaced.

The transmission uses a flywheel, pressure plate and clutch to engage and disengage the engine from the transmission. The flywheel and pressure plate are connected to the engine. The clutch is sandwiched between them and is splined to the transmission input shaft.

Another customer from Vincenzo Sagun, Zamboanga del Sur experienced low power with his Toyota Fortuner equipped with a 2KD engine. As usual, our team advised him to have the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system cleaned, especially since the vehicle has already reached over 200,000 kilometers and the EGR has never been opened or cleaned since purchase. Attached are the photos showing the heavy carbon build-up inside the EGR.

💡IACV
The idle air control valve bypasses air around the closed throttle valve and sends it to the engine, allowing it to receive the air it needs to combust fuel while idle.

💡THROTTLE BODY
The purpose of the throttle body is to control air intake to the engine.

💡DISTRIBUTOR CAP
Distributor caps and rotors are responsible for passing the voltage from the ignition coils to the engine's cylinders in order to ignite the fuel-air mixture

Good morning mga ka wheels. 🛞

A customer from Cagayan de Oro City had his vehicle towed to our shop. Upon inspection, we noticed that shifting the transmission to “D” caused the engine to stall. We discovered that the transmission fluid (ATF) level was below the minimum. After refilling the fluid, the vehicle was able to run, but we still observed low power and poor shifting. Further inspection revealed a cut wire in the transmission. We also cleaned all socket terminals connected to the transmission, including those for the automatic transmission fluid pressure valve and the shift selector solenoid.

Did you know❓🤔

📌Below minimum ATF - Your transmission stops working because your torque converter can not create sufficient pressure. Your car simply won't go.

📌Shift solenoid problems - Plenty of transmission shifting problems can be traced back to a malfunctioning shift solenoid, including: Delayed or unpredictable gear shifting. If you experience a delay in shifting, or your vehicle has ever jumped to another gear on its own, there is a very good chance that one or more solenoids are failing.
