License Plate Sticker Update 2026:
For those of you whose license plate sticker is due for renewal in January, February & March there are currently no stickers available at this time. You still need to pay for it and keep the receipt in your glove box with the document pictured below. Each municipality issues their own Permiso Temporal de Circulacion. In addition, many of the actual license plates will be replaced this year. You may have noticed plates with numbers like 22-26 meaning the plate is good for 4 years. The old system replaced the plates every year. These are also delayed. The government is saying 3 months before plates and stickers are available.
Many of us know that time frames here in Panama can be a tad inaccurate 🙂 The police are obviously aware of the situation. For all our clients who are waiting for their stickers and plates please refrain from messaging us, when we have them, you will have them. For new arrivals this may seem uncomfortable but this happens almost every year. NOT to worry!
