On Friday 1st March 2024, there is a new government levy being introduced to all tyres imported into New Zealand - called the Tyre Stewardship Levy.

This is an "end of life tyre cost", which is prepaid, when you purchase a new tyre. Every time you buy a tyre, it will be charged separately.

Until the 1st September 2024, you will still be charged a disposal levy for your current tyre, but this will no longer exist from 1st September.

Please bear with us, it is new to us, we don't make a margin off it and it is charged to us by our tyre supplier when we purchase.

Hopefully the Government get on board and start advertising this a little more, so we aren't the messenger...

Hi all, sadly overnight on Tuesday 15th February, some classy individual decided to try break into our wee courtesy car in upper Palmerston St (between Bentham and Menzies Sts). This happened between 5pm and 8am.
If anyone heard or saw anything, ourselves or Westport Police would love to hear from you.
Luckily the individual lacks enough intelligence to realize old Getzy is not easily stolen.

In light of the Emergency Alert and Evacuation orders our town is now under, we have made the decision to close effective immediately.

So tomorrow is the day the Traffic Light System comes into play!

We want to advise all our customers that we WILL NOT be requiring Vaccine Passes to visit our business.

We have looked into the Vaccine pass requirements and due to the size of our building, along with our staff numbers and that we generally don’t have long periods of time face to face with our clients, we do not require this for entry.

We WILL however be requiring face coverings to be worn, our customers to scan the COVID code and to respect personal space by social distancing.

Our gates at the front remain shut (this is not only COVID related but health and safety) so please make sure you always come to the office first.
