Happy Saturday, Wellington! ☀️
Hope your weekend has been great so far. We had a bit of sunshine today, and tomorrow is looking like an improvement on the last few Sundays — fingers crossed! 🤞
We’ve had a pretty challenging run of weather lately, and with that in mind, I want to give a huge shoutout to all the vendors who turn up every Sunday to be here for you. ❤️
Our produce suppliers are setting up from 4.30am and working throughout the day to bring you the best produce they can. That’s literally rain, hail or shine.
Then there are all the other stallholders who are able to trade safely in whatever weather we face — they still show up and make it happen. And let’s be honest, a market without coffee and/or a treat or two would be pretty sad! ☕️🍰
I really appreciate the effort everyone puts in, week in and week out. It doesn’t go unnoticed.
We also managed to offer the Harbourside Markets “Sunday Secret” burger on two of our three Sundays. A huge thanks to everyone who contributed, and especially Alex, James and Grace for absolutely pumping those burgers out the window! 🍔
We produced close to 200 burgers, which, considering the weather and everything else going on, was a fantastic effort — all for a great cause, The Shed Project. 💛
There’s always plenty planned here at the market, including pop-ups, community groups and live music. Sometimes, unfortunately, the weather has other ideas!
And finally… got a cute dog with a story? 🐶

🐾 Meet Emjay and Murphy – Our ! 🐾
Say hello to Emjay. (DogDog), racing name Big Time Emjay, a 10 year-old Greyhound and Murphy (PupPup) , a 6 year-old Blue Heeler.

They are visiting from Johnsonville with their humans Lou and James.
They visit regularly with the kids but not today. On Croc Bikes when they join them.
Emjay has been part of the family since he retired from racing at age 5. He is still learning how to be a dog and is more accurately described as a big cat. Murphy has been onboard from a puppy and is originally from Gisborne. Lou likes dressing Emjay and he’s in his pyjamas today. Murphy loves balls and other toys and normally falls asleep with one of them close by.

James favourite stall is the Juice Cart and something with cinnamon and Lou loves a coffee from Origin using our MugCycle cups.

Happy Saturday, Wellington!
Hope your weekend has been great so far. Had a bit of sun today as I sit here and it’s relatively calm at the moment. Looking like it could be the calm before the storm….. Sundays looking a tad breezy..
I mentioned last week how we really do love Wellington’s weather — keeping us on our toes. Actually, I am looking forward to a calm Sunday soon as it hasn’t played ball for us for a while. Never mind, we do the best we can and do appreciate you all supporting the market and its businesses every Sunday no matter what!.

Once again there may be a few stallholders and/or community groups who decide to sit this one out, for safety reasons. We will monitor in the morning. Feel free to message via this page.

Tomorrow sees the 2nd and LAST chance to give Harbourside Markets “Sunday Secret” a go — Our first Burger for Wellington on a Plate!

Eight of our market stallholders have teamed up to create one seriously special collaborative burger. Find us at the north end of the promenade and grab one while you can.
Even better — it’s all for a good cause, with fundraising going towards The Shed Project. They will be onsite all going well and hope to do a dance performance at midday.

🐾 Meet Kipling – Our ! 🐾
Say hello to Kipling, a 1.5-year-old Airedale Terrier from Paparangi.
Visiting with his humans Maisha and Seth, Kipling is their 1st dog together and is loving the vibe of the market with all the sounds and smells and other dogs. It’s a really important part of his training. Apparently when let loose in a park it’s the recall that needs the work!
He’s a big fluffy boy which was one of Seths prerequisites when choosing a breed.
Kipling is quite a boisterous, curious and cheeky boy and super confident.
Airedales were initially breed as “ratters” but are also used as police dogs in some countries.

He loves balls, beaches and sticks AND Bananas and Peanut Butter!
He actually would like most of the offerings at the market, hence he’s staying on the edge with Maisha.

Morning Wellington. Due to the weather today we have a somewhat reduced market.

Sadly, Sunday Secret Burger will not be available today.

Hopefully next week is better for us.
