Three trucks. Ten workers. 122 square metres of house. Moved overnight from Wairau to Henderson.
That convoy does not leave the yard until every check is signed off.
Before the wheels turn, our crew walks the route one last time to confirm clearance at every pinch point, roundabout, and overhead line. The pilot vehicle gets positioned ahead of the lead truck, radios tested, spotter briefed on the exact sequencing between the three loads. Load bracing is checked section by section. Amber lighting is switched on and inspected around the full perimeter, because a house on a trailer at 1am needs to be seen from every angle.
None of this is guesswork. As members of the NZ Heavy Haulage Association and Site Safe NZ, we work to a proper standard, and that standard is what lets a 122 sqm home travel safely through Auckland streets while most of the city is asleep.
The house that would have been demolished is now standing on a new section in Henderson. That is the whole point of the checklist. 🏠
