When did you last check your tyre tread?

Here's a look at how much contact a tyre makes with a wet road at different speeds. At high speeds a tyre with minimum tread doesn't get rid of as much water from the road surface as a tyre with good tread. With low tread you won't have as much traction in tough conditions.

It hasn't been the greatest weather already this week, and winter is coming—so now's the perfect time to check on your tyre tread depth. Replace your tyres as soon as you can if they're worn, and especially at the minimum—and remember to drive to the conditions!

Here's more on tyre tread, tyre pressures, and choosing the right tyres for your vehicle: https://www.nzta.govt.nz/tyres/

Well, it looks like we can resume driving lessons and defensive driving courses when we are at Alert Level 2. Standard practise at this stage will become:
1. I will wear a mask
2. A mask will be available for you if you wish to wear one but don't have your own
3. All contact surfaces will be wiped down with alcohol wipes between each client
4. Hand sanitizer will be used at the start and finish of your lesson.

Any queries - please don't hesitate to give me a call 022 071 2242

In light of the latest announcement by the govt we need to suspend all driving lessons till further notice. Sorry about that. Stay safe and stay strong, be kind and thoughtful. I look forward to brighter days ahead

So....covid 19 virus. Precautions I'm taking with my driving school business are: between clients I am wiping down all common contact surfaces with alcohol wipes in my vehicle like steering wheel, gear stick etc. (Palms get quite sweaty😁)

The Story of OneWay Driving School

I love being an NZTA certified driving instructor. I’ve been instructing for a couple of years now and find it incredibly rewarding and enjoyable. I have 4 young adult kids of my own who keep me firmly grounded in the world of teenagers and it also helps provide the motivation I need to not only train people to obtain their license but also develop quality safe drivers that can enjoy a lifetime of good motoring. I get a kick out of instructing a certain skill and seeing the development of the person in their abilities and confidence. I’m really patient and calm when instructing and work hard to make the whole journey of learning to drive an enjoyable and safe one. I tailor my lessons to the individual’s needs, seeking to ensure a complete set of driving skills is reached.

I have two cars available for lessons if required. One is a manual with dual control called ‘Betty White’ and the other an automatic called ‘Betty Boo’.

In my spare time I work on farms milking cows and working for LIC as an AB technician. But when I’m not working I love going tramping – the more remote the better. It's either that or chilling with mates doing fun stuff that involves adrenaline.
