Testing the new Opel Corsa, the first one on the roads in the Wellington region. Anyone recognize the background?

There’s definitely a greater push toward electrified cars by some manufacturers, and MG has been pricing them competitively for the spec (as far as new cars are concerned). The latest is the HS plug-in hybrid and on paper it looks impressive: 280 bhp and 166 mpg (209 kW and 1·7 ℓ/100 km). We can debate whether it’s a real MG or not but considering we’ve seen Magnettes and Montegos, maybe they have to go where a lot of buyers are. We’ll know soon if they’re any decent after they appear in NZ next month.
