Hi all. Retirement has came upon me rather fast and now I have new direction to keep me busy. Currently I am working with MITO (an industry training organisation). Working 2 days a week mentoring apprentices in the automotive industry and helping them wth the theory side of their apprenticeship. The 2 days I am working are very busy looking after 13 apprentices at varying stages of their apprenticeship & It is a very rewarding job seeing them mowing down their assessments. It is also great being able to put something back into the automotive industry after being in it for 50 years. There are huge knowledge gaps appearing with the older generation of mechanics now retiring so it is important to keep the younger ones coming through. Cheers, Murray.

Hello to all my family, friends, clients, associates and colleagues. This post is to let all know that it is time for me to hang up my spanners and announce my retirement after 30 years trading as Murray Kitchen’s Car Maintenance. My official retirement date is going to be 31st March this year. I would like to express my gratitude and thankfulness to all the fantastic people that have supported us over the 3 decades I have been in business. It has been my pleasure to be of assistance and helping out as best as I can. After unsuccessfully trying to sell the business we have decided to close the doors (a bit sad, but that is the way things are in this tough time). We have sent a letter out to as many clients as we can to let you know our plans and outline the options for another good workshop that will look after you. Please be aware that I may not be able to take on all the work leading up to my retirement date if everyone comes in wanting me to do “just one more job before you retire”. At present we are booked nearly 2 weeks in advance so if you do want any repairs etc, please book in early (Friday 25th March will be my last working day). During the last week of March there will be lot of things to sort.
For anyone concerned at this news, I am in great health and looking forward to the next chapter in my life. I have something happening that will mean working up to 3 days a week (more news coming soon). After nearly 50 years being a mechanic, working up to 50 weeks a year, 5 days a week & up to 10 hours a day along with being a “pensioner” now has led me to making this decision. Will probably see the golf course a bit more too 🤔

Cheers Murray & Leanne

Hi all. Just putting up an update on what is happening at Murray Kitchen’s Car Maintenance.
We are as usual at this time of the year extremely busy. Due to 2 COVID lockdowns and a hail storm we now have a massive spike in vehicles coming to our workshop wanting a warrant of fitness & servicing.
Between now and our annual festive season break, we have a few spots left for your vehicle in the workshop. Bookings are extremely essential. The workshop is open for business up until Wednesday 22nd December (4pm close) and reopening in the new year on Tuesday 11th January 2022.
We wish you all the best for the upcoming festive season and thank you all very, very much for your continued support in 2021.

Hello to all. Another very busy start to a new year. One month gone and where did it go. We are experiencing an extremely busy time at the workshop and currently we are booked ahead 8 working days. Very frustrating some days when I have to say "NO" to somebody when I would love to help out. Please be patient when booking in your vehicle as there may be a delay between phoning or calling for an appointment and when I can do the job. If you know there is something coming up with you vehicle then give me plenty of notice so we can help you. I will always do my best to help out as you know. Happy motoring and catch up soon.

Well here we are over half way through the year again. We are having a very busy time in the workshop keeping your vehicles safe on the road. More than ever appointments are very necessary. Presently we are booked out at least 5 days in advance so if you make an appointment please don't be late (you may loose your spot). I try to keep to my busy schedule, but some days it is not easy when you get extras on the job that are not anticipated. I still love my work and look forward to every day at work (just love working on cars). Being a good people person, I am able to talk to you personally and get to know you and your car well which enables me to have your vehicles back on the road in good time and reliable. Do watch the wild winter driving conditions and be safe out there. Cheers, Murray.

Seasons greeting to my faithful followers on Facebook. Today is the last day this year for our workshop to be open. We are having a well earned break and re-open the workshop on Tuesday January 10th. A huge thank you to all our awesome clients for being such loyal clientele through 2016. Best wishes for the festive season and we look forward to looking after your trusty vehicles in 2017 onwards. I love going to work every day and look forward to what the day brings along.

The busy season has arrived very quickly and with a vengence. The workshop is booked nearly 1 week ahead and there is only three weeks left before Christmas. If you are wanting Murray to make sure your vehicle is going to get through the holiday season, better get in quick. I am experiencing delays obtaining parts and the odd problem that occurs when carrying out repars, which does cause problems with repair times. At this stage of the year be prepared to leave your vehicle as long as possible (when booked in) so we can fit all the jobs in. Cheers, Murray

Only 5 more working weeks till Christmas. Bookings are already getting heavy and I am currently booked out three days ah...

Only 5 more working weeks till Christmas. Bookings are already getting heavy and I am currently booked out three days ahead. If you are needing maintenance or repairs done before you go away for the holidays and you want me to do your work, give me a ring now and don't be disappointed. 688-5922 7:45am to 5:15pm.

10 weeks till Christmas. Doesn't seem right, but it is. If you are going away or will be using your car a lot over the festive season, then you had better start thinking about some maintenance. Get in early before the festive season to have your car serviced to enable you to have trouble free motoring when you need it the most. Give me a call (688-5922) during business hours (8:00am to 5:00pm) and make an appointment. Give your car the best chance of staying reliable when you are away on holiday. Regards Murray.
