At this point we're starting to think this bloke buys vehicles just so he can bring them back for another tune... 😂

This 2020 Hino 300 is now vehicle number FOUR we've tuned for him.

After the previous three, we reckon he already knew how this story was going to end.

🔥 150hp ➜ 225hp (+75hp)
🔥 420Nm ➜ 630Nm (+210Nm)

You can always spot the Hilux owners in the Mitre 10 carpark 😅 ourselves included 🤣

✔ Snorkel taller than the roof
✔ Mud tyres humming louder than the radio
✔ Bullbar capable of moving livestock
✔ Full tray setup
✔ 14 iced coffees in the cup holders
✔ Enough recovery gear to rescue a logging truck
✔ Still somehow carrying a Red Band gumboot full of cable ties behind the seat

Owner reckoned he was sick of his mate’s 2020 D-Max sneaking past him on the open road… 🤬

Plus he wanted the thing to actually hold 6th gear without dropping back every time it saw a hill or saw a headwind.

So this one got our hot cake special:
✅ Stage 1+ Tune
✅ EGR Solution
✅ DPF Solution
✅ Transmission Tune

Results:
⚙️ 177HP → 217HP
⚙️ 450Nm → 550Nm

Drives like a completely different ute now. Holds gears properly, pulls way harder towing and no longer sounds like it’s fighting for its life trying to overtake a campervan.

Now both the Hilux and the D-Max are tuned… so what started as “just a couple mates with work utes” has escalated into a full-time horsepower rivalry. Dirt Road Drags is officially here! 😂

These 4jj3 motors are the perfect setup for towing, open road driving and everyday use. The 3.0L D-Max platform responds EXTREMELY well to tuning while still maintaining excellent drivability and reliability when done correctly. The hidden potential in this motor is unbelievable!
