🔧 LESS FREQUENT WOFs DON'T MEAN LESS MAINTENANCE! 🚗

With the upcoming NZTA changes, many vehicles will soon only require a WoF every two years.

While that might sound like great news, there's something important we want our customers to remember…

A WOF is a safety inspection, NOT a service!

A lot can happen to your vehicle in two years, and without regular checks, small issues can quickly turn into expensive repairs — or worse, safety concerns.

That's why we recommend keeping up with your 6-monthly or annual servicing, depending on your vehicle and how much you drive.

🚗 BIG CHANGES ARE COMING TO WoFs! 🚗

From 1 November 2026, NZTA is introducing changes to how often vehicles need a Warrant of Fitness.

Depending on your vehicle's age and first registration date, you may soon only need a WoF every TWO years! 🎉

🔧 What's changing?

- New vehicles — first WoF at registration, then another at 4 years.
- Eligible vehicles aged 4–14 years — WoFs every 2 years (phased in).
- Older vehicles — annual WoFs continue.

⚠️ There's a catch!

Less frequent inspections mean more responsibility for vehicle owners to ensure their cars remain safe and roadworthy between checks.

Your current WoF expiry date remains unchanged, and not all vehicles qualify for the new intervals immediately.

With changes coming from 1 November, now is a good time to check that little sticker on your windscreen.

A WoF that’s more than 2 months overdue will carry a $350 infringement fee, up from $200

Don’t let a forgotten WoF turn into a very expensive reminder. 😬
