** Not for Sale... at the moment **
The Bultaco Sherpa T350 (often just called the Sherpa 350) is an iconic Spanish two-stroke trials motorcycle. First introduced in 1972, it revolutionized off-road motorcycling as the first trials bike over 300cc. Revered for its nimble geometry, slim frame, and incredible low-end torque, it remains a highly sought-after collectible today.
On paper, it doesnโt look too promising. An old 70โs piston-port, two-stroke engine of European origins, designed to potter about and pull from nowhere in the rev-range at the riders behest. No reed valves, power valves, ignition advance or other techie items deemed necessary for a stroker to do such work, surely this cannot be possible? Well, within seconds of actually starting the Sherpa T, selecting first gear, and getting going on it you begin to realise it is even better than that. In practise, the Bultaco engine is a real donkey that carburates impressively and pulls even more so, no wonder they are in such demand even now!

The Sherpa 350 utilizes a 326cc, air-cooled, two-stroke single engine. It was not built for top-end speed, but rather to provide smooth, usable power directly off idle. This makes it exceptionally capable at crawling over logs, rocks, and tight technical sections without stalling. The 1970s and 80s models famously refined the power delivery to be surprisingly quiet and tractable.

The bike's weight distribution is considered one of its greatest assets. It features classic trials geometry that allows riders to maintain their line effortlessly on varying terrain. While some later bikes from competitors (like the Montesa Cota) offered slightly better front-end agility, the Sherpa is universally praised for its "noble" and forgiving handling characteristics. Equipped with Betor front forks and adjustable rear shocks, it provides a smooth and progressive ride.

Visually and functionally, the Sherpa 350 is a standout, transitioning through various iconic liveries and fuel tank styles throughout its production run (such as the slimline Champion Kit tanks). It features a 5-speed gearbox with a traditional right-side gear shift. Because it was primarily built as a competition motorcycle, it is incredibly lightweight and easy to maneuver with body English.

Bultaco won 5 World Trials Championships with the Sherpa series (with riders like Martin Lampkin, Yrjo Vesterinen, and Bernie Schreiber). Today, the Sherpa 350 remains a highly sought-after collector's item and an excellent, competitive mount for vintage "twinshock" trials events.
