We have a cracking little bike here waiting for a new owner. This has been sat in a garage for a number of years before we got our hands on it. The previous owner just stopped using it and eventually contacted us to get it out of their place.

We have given it a full service (oil, filters etc.) and a fresh WoF. Cleaned and polished and now ready for a new home.

The Bultaco Sherpa T350 (often just called the Sherpa 350) is an iconic Spanish two-stroke trials motorcycle. First introduced in 1972, it revolutionized off-road motorcycling as the first trials bike over 300cc. Revered for its nimble geometry, slim frame, and incredible low-end torque, it remains a highly sought-after collectible today.

On paper, it doesnโ€™t look too promising. An old 70โ€™s piston-port, two-stroke engine of European origins, designed to potter about and pull from nowhere in the rev-range at the riders behest. No reed valves, power valves, ignition advance or other techie items deemed necessary for a stroker to do such work, surely this cannot be possible? Well, within seconds of actually starting the Sherpa T, selecting first gear, and getting going on it you begin to realise it is even better than that. In practise, the Bultaco engine is a real donkey that carburates impressively and pulls even more so, no wonder they are in such demand even now!

โ€ข Engine: 349cc single-cylinder, two-stroke.
โ€ข Power: 20.8 bhp, known for pulling cleanly from as low as 300 RPM
โ€ข Gearbox: 5-speed transmission, featuring the classic right-hand gear shift.
โ€ข Design: Ultra-narrow one-piece seat and gas tank to allow riders to shift their weight easily, aluminium bash-guard, and very lightweight (e.g., the front wheel assembly weighed less than 4kg

The Sherpa 350 utilizes a 326cc, air-cooled, two-stroke single engine. It was not built for top-end speed, but rather to provide smooth, usable power directly off idle. This makes it exceptionally capable at crawling over logs, rocks, and tight technical sections without stalling. The 1970s and 80s models famously refined the power delivery to be surprisingly quiet and tractable.

The bike's weight distribution is considered one of its greatest assets. It features classic trials geometry that allows riders to maintain their line effortlessly on varying terrain. While some later bikes from competitors (like the Montesa Cota) offered slightly better front-end agility, the Sherpa is universally praised for its "noble" and forgiving handling characteristics. Equipped with Betor front forks and adjustable rear shocks, it provides a smooth and progressive ride.

๐—˜๐—ฟ๐—ด๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐˜€ & ๐——๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ป
Visually and functionally, the Sherpa 350 is a standout, transitioning through various iconic liveries and fuel tank styles throughout its production run (such as the slimline Champion Kit tanks). It features a 5-speed gearbox with a traditional right-side gear shift. Because it was primarily built as a competition motorcycle, it is incredibly lightweight and easy to maneuver with body English.

Bultaco won 5 World Trials Championships with the Sherpa series (with riders like Martin Lampkin, Yrjo Vesterinen, and Bernie Schreiber). Today, the Sherpa 350 remains a highly sought-after collector's item and an excellent, competitive mount for vintage "twinshock" trials events.

The original 1970s Suzuki RV125 and the modern reborn RV125 VanVan share the same "beach bike" philosophy but are fundamentally different motorcycles. The original 1972โ€“1982 version used a simple two-stroke engine and 5-speed transmission. The modern reintroduction (2003โ€“2017) features a cleaner, more reliable four-stroke engine and a 6-speed gearbox.

We took this bike and handed it over to Gavin to see what "his take" on the Van Van would be... It turned into this stunning Van-Van Copper Custom Chopper!

Budget pricing but with huge potential!

In Japan, small bikes rule. This is partially due to the space limitations and density of the country, but more to do with training and cost of licensing. There is a steep increase in the price of a license as you go up in capacity, making larger bikes not viable for most riders. Thus, most manufacturers offer some serious hardware in the smaller classes.

Take this FZR250R as an example:
We acquired the bike in a non-running state. We have brought this bike back to life and to a stage where someone can pick this up and finish the cosmetics and get this unique machine back on the streets. We have done a lot of work (see below)

What is so special about this FZR250R
While only 250cc, it sports an in-line four cylinder liquid-cooled motor with 4-valves per pot. Redline is an insane 18,500 RPM, with max power in the 45 HP range. A Delta box perimeter frame gives all the pieces something to mount to, and braking duties are handled by twin stoppers up front!

1980 Weslake Speedway Bike Ex-Mitch Shirra

Engine: 613
Frame: N4595

History:
Famously ridden by New Zealand National Speedway Team member Mitch Shirra.

Notes:
Jawa Mk1 chassis (c.1976), powered by a Weslake engine.

The Weslake speedway engine is one of the most respected names in the sport, purpose-built for methanol fuel, total-loss lubrication and explosive acceleration. These English-built 500cc singles were renowned for their power-to-weight ratio and throttle response, and became dominant in top-level speedway through the late 1970s and early 1980s. This machine is presented as an early 1980s Weslake-powered speedway bike built on a Jawa Mark 1 chassis (stated circa 1976), a well-established and period-correct combination.

The bike is associated with New Zealand rider Mitch Shirra, who competed successfully at both domestic and international level. It carries New Zealand-themed โ€œMitch Shirraโ€ tank decals and blue/red/white livery with star detailing and NZ number plates, steeped in history!

It is a correct and uncompromising speedway motorcycle: no brakes, no gearbox, exposed chain drive with a large rear sprocket, wide handlebars, single seat pad and compact alloy fuel tank. It is fitted with spoked wheels wearing speedway tyres, period-style guards, and a simple carburettor and exhaust arrangement.

This is race-used rather than restored, a genuine classic speedway machine rather than a display replica!
