Ducati 748R engine conversion.
We have converted a 748cc engine to a 1,010cc engine.
To achieve this we have used the following parts:
- Modified (lightened and balanced) 916 crankshaft.
- Pankl titanium longer rods.
- Wiseco pistons modified by us to achieve desired compression ratios and clearances.
- Ported cylinder heads.
We have also completely refreshed the engine and installed upgraded cam followers to avoid any chromium wear.
The bottom end was serviced, having shimmed crankshaft and gearbox accordingly.
There has been some extra modifications we had to do to allow for the longer stroke to allow full rotation without hitting internal components. The engine timing layshaft had to be reduced in diameter by 4mm to allow the horizontal con-rod full rotation without interference.
We are in the process of tuning the ecu’s eeprom to ensure fuel and ignition are properly adjusted for the hardware mods.
We are going to do a proper write up of this mod, for your enjoyment.
