Hi all, well the season is on the down hill run now. Saturday night had 20 Minisprints attend the OST Round at Stratford for the King of the Mountain and Western Stampede Championships. The King of the Mountain was contested over three 10 lap heats, the heat wins went the way of 66p Craig Mason, 38s Donald Kuriger and 82s Cam Hurley. Topping the points charts at the end of the 3rd heat was 95s Duane Hickman, from 18p Daniel Nickel and 66p Craig Mason taking 3rd place on superior lap time to 85s Erin Uhlenberg. The Western Stampede 15 lap final was won by Nickel from Hickman then Mason with Uhlenberg holding of 2nz Glenn McCutcheon in 4th and 5th. 3nz Nathan Jefferies suffered engine failure in the first heat, while other top 6 contenders Dylan Smith and Cam Hurley, suffered damage on the night which has all but ended the podium chances in the series. The OST tour points heading into next weekend at Palmerston, see Hickman with a comfortable advantage over McCutcheon, Nickel and Jefferies who will fight out the remaining podium spots. The Manawatu Dash will be the final round for the season and should be a great night. hope to see you there.
