Dear friends, community members, and valued supporters,
Due to the conclusion of our lease, we regret to inform you that our doors will be closing as of Friday 8th August 2025.

We want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your unwavering support, encouragement, and connection over the past 3 years. It has truly meant the world to us.
While this chapter is coming to a close, we are actively seeking a new location to continue our work, and we will keep you updated as things develop.

Thank you again for being part of our journey, we look forward to what's next.

Wishing you all a happy and safe Christmas!!

Doors will be open Wednesday(28th) Thursday (29th) and Friday (30th) for emergency repairs and punctures. Normal business hours resume Wednesday 4/1/23!

Would like to thank all my customers, the local community, family and friends who have supported me and the business since opening. I honestly couldn't have done it without you all!

The new year is already looking great! I have now taken on an apprentice and have an a wonderful person coming on to help in the office. 😁 (Will possibly introduce them to you all on here next week😄)

The Rural Mechanic is located in Waikite Valley between Rotorua and Taupo. Our region offers great outdoor activities for biking, boating, walking and all that Taupo and Rotorua offers. We are a close knit agricultural community and our business services its automotive needs.

Interested in a variety of work? We service and repair cars, utes, and small petrol/diesel engines. Tyre sales and parts supply. There is always something different every day.

Currently seeking a part time receptionist/office administrator.
2-3 days per week 9am-4pm.(flexible)
Xero accounting/WebSam experience an advantage.

Duties will include reception duties, answering phone calls, taking bookings, parts orders, invoicing and on going communication with customers.

Also seeking an apprentice. Must be interested in the industry, keen to learn and have excellent work ethic. Some experience an advantage.

Or possibly a person with at least 5 years experience/qualified mechanic. A V.I. ticket is an advantage but not critical

Duties include vehicle/trailer/engine repairs (petrol and diesel), large and small and servicing. Tyre fitting and repair. General workshop duties. Training provided for the right person to become a certified V.I.

Hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Applicant must have a clean full driver's license and be able to work alone with little supervision and also as part a team in our busy workshop.
