It is with sadness but also excitement I have to advise this week will be my last as Better Young Drivers. My family and I are moving to Australia to enable my wife to take up an awesome opportunity.

Friday is my last day as my vehicle is sold and the passenger side break is being de installed. My insurance is invalid without this so I cannot take students.

This means cancelling Saturday lessons. I will obviously refund those that have paid in advance. Please advise bank account details.

Sorry for any inconvenience but I have no choice in this.

I will conduct the lesson in your car if you still want to have it. Choice is yours

It has been a pleasure for me to help so many achieve a goal. I've been inspired by a few of your journeys to obtaining a licence.

Have had a few students get this wrong on Defensive Drive assessments. Always be aware of a school bus and children being unpredictable.

Did you know that if a school bus has stopped to drop off or pick up tamariki you have to reduce your speed to 20km/h? 🚌

It's only a few seconds out of your day, but will make the world of difference if a child were to step out from behind the bus.

I spy with my little eye….
YOU. Because you have your headlights on, right? 👀

✅ 30 min after sunset and 30 min before sunrise
✅ In fog/rain
✅ When you can’t see at least 100m ahead of you

A general rule of thumb for bad weather, if your windscreen wipers need to be on, then your lights should be too!

The firsts keep on coming, two passed in a morning for our little but growing driving school.

In the last week another few students passing their driving tests and getting to enjoy the privilege of a driver's licence.
