Meet the team… This is Dave 🙋‍♂️
Dave is one of the mechanics here at Real Steel.
He’s a qualified mechanic with many years of experience behind him and is an absolute gun when it comes to diagnostics. He’s incredibly thorough, fastidious with his work and has that old-school work ethic where if a job’s worth doing, it’s worth doing properly.
Dave is one of the most cruisy guys you’ll meet. He just gets on with things - goes with the flow and nothing is ever a problem. He’s reliable, tidy, quietly hilarious and always good for a bit of workshop banter.

Outside of work Dave’s married to Bronnie, has built and crafted their one of a kind shed home in Invercargill. He loves a cold Coke (or any fizzy pop 😝) and is currently building an old-school chev Blazer. Once that’s finished, the next project on the list is his dream car.

We’re honoured to have Dave as part of the Real Steel team. His experience, workmanship and easy-going nature make him an absolute asset to the workshop.

On a personal note we’re also bloody lucky to have him as part of the family (he’s Cory’s Dad and my father in law) he’s truly one of a kind and we are forever grateful for the amazing things he brings to our whanau!

This Holden Prem Wagon came to us in a bit of a sad state, but it’s well on its way back.
We’ve finished the rust repairs and the body’s in primer, made some great progress. Underneath is completely finished, and it’s packing some serious gear too, 9” diff, coil-overs all round, full Wilwood brakes, plus an LS1 topped with an injected tunnel ram.
We’re looking forward to getting this one back in the shop and seeing it all come together. It’s going to be a pretty special build 👌🏻

Meet the team - Steve 👋🏼

Steve is one of those guys that lends a hand to anything, he has a wide range of skills and willingness to take on whatever rolls through the doors, he’s a valued member of the real steel team.

Lately, Steve’s been spending time on the fab side of things and he’s been doing an incredible job.
As a qualified electrician he’s our go to for a lot of the auto electrical work that comes through the shop, from wiring to troubleshooting and rolling his sleeves up for everything in between.

When Steve’s not at work he likes a bit of hunting and of course building his own classic cars - having built some prestigious award winning cars over the years, it’s clear his passion for the industry doesn’t stop when he clocks off!

Steve lives with his wife Lynette and they have a daughter, Caitlin and two wee dogs who keep life interesting! 🐶

Steve loves a good dad joke and keeps the team laughing, we’re lucky to have Steve, his sense of humour and the wealth of experience he brings to the Real Steel Crew ✨

Meet Nick 👋

Nick is a qualified panel be**er with an exceptional eye for detail and a real pride in his workmanship. He’s conscientious, reliable, and always focused on achieving the best possible result for our customers’ vehicles.

Around the workshop, Nick is known for his positive attitude, easy going nature, and the fact he’s always up for a yarn. He’s a valued member of the Real Steel team and brings a great balance of skill, professionalism, and good humour to the job every day.

Lately, Nick has been getting behind the spray gun and developing his automotive painting skills — and he’s doing bloody well. It’s been awesome to see him continue to expand his skillset and take on new challenges within the workshop.

Nick’s a keen surfer, so he’s out on the water whenever he gets the chance but if he’s not on the water, you’ll catch him in his shed or chilling with his partner Lucy and their two young children

We’re lucky to have him on the team. 🤘
