Phone 03 313 7470. We cater for almost all vehicles and repairs. We offer WOF inspections for light vehicles and trailers, general and warranty servicing, mechanical repairs including warranty company repairs. We are specialists in diagnostics and common rail diesel fault finding and repairs. We also have Loan cars available on request or can drop you home within the Rangiora area if required. We

are also able to do Roll protection inspections, technical checks and Authority cards for motorsport vehicles on behalf of Motor Sport New Zealand.

Nice email from a long lost customer today.

"Hey guys,

Its been a while since we last saw each other and frankly, moving to (a different town) is not a valid excuse for the time past I do admit.

So, here I return, in the form of an email because I am too sheepish to call, with my tail between my legs and pleading for forgiveness for I have sinned with trying other mechanics.

The (vehicle) has failed a wof for bushes and magically sprouted an engine leak in the last two months despite having it checked and a service compeleted recently with no comment... it must have been a hide and seek pro that day!

I beg of thee, please let me return. I have learned my lesson, no mechanic compares to you all."

Allan's spending 3 days at the Scope classic race meeting at Ruapuna.

PSA for everyone thinking about fitting LED headlight bulbs. Dont!

1) It is not legal to fit an LED bulb into a headlight that was not designed to take one.

2) They are often rubbish quality. There's a reason you can buy a pair for 6 dollars off the internet.

These images show a LED headlight bulb fitted to a vehicle that was originally fitted with Halogen H7 bulbs.

Not only is the light output worse than a halogen bulb, but the light no longer has correct focus meaning it will be dazzling and blinding to oncoming traffic, as can be seen by a lack of left angled cut off pattern on our beamsetter.

We are regularly removing these bulbs from vehicles now days.

If you do want better lighting there are much better, legal options such as +30% output halogen bulbs.

Save your money and stick to what is supposed to be fitted.

C) No vehicle registration number.

Welcome back.
We will be back on board with Level 3 restrictions from tomorrow. There will be no access into the workshop so call us on 03 313 7470 first and we will have an area for pick up and drop off set up.
We will be contacting those who missed out on bookings due to the lockdown from tomorrow morning.
We will likely need to spread the bookings out a bit to have a catch up and we are unsure what parts availability will be like yet due to the continuing L4 lockdown up north so please do be patient.
