Flying KR - During the 1960's George Roeder was among the top riders in the AMA's Grand National series and a member of the Harley-Davidson Factory Racing Team. Roeder was best known for fierce competition on flat tracks across America, but participated in a wide variety of events. Shown here in the mid 1960's on his Harley-Davidson KR race bike, Roeder also participated in TT races complete with jumps and obstacles.

Flying Excelsior - In 1911 Ignaz Schwinn (of Schwinn Bicycles) purchased the Excelsior Motor Manufacturing and Supply Co and entered the motorcycle game. This early Schwinn era Excelsior motorcycle was photographed midair after quickly climbing a steep embankment. The 1000cc chain drive machine was capable, simple, and rugged in its design for the time.

Pipeline Rider - This photo from the mid 1910’s shows motorcyclist Johnny Hogg and his wife riding on an aqueduct pipeline with a Harley-Davidson sidecar rig. The pipeline ran about 15 miles through Los Angeles’ Mint Canyon. Mere days after this stunt was completed, another daring rider on a solo machine attempted the same stunt and found himself in the hospital.
