Every year we hold a raffle at the Petrolhead Father’s Day Drags, thanks to the generous donations of our sponsors!

Since it worked so well the past 2 years, we’re opening up the draw to those following along on our social media again as well!

So whether you’re attending but want to get in early with purchasing your raffle tickets or if you can’t make it to the event, you can still be in the draw to win some awesome prizes!!

Why experience matters when it comes to tyre advice

We recently had a customer told by another local tyre & wheel shop that their tyre had a “sidewall bulge” and needed immediate replacement.

It didn’t.

What you’re seeing here is a sidewall indent, not a bulge.

This is very common and is typically caused by the body-ply splice / manufacturing process, where the internal ply slightly stiffens one area and the rubber sits inward rather than outward.

A bulge is the opposite:
• Pushes outward
• Feels soft when pressed
• Indicates internal cord damage
• Requires immediate replacement

An indent:
• Is hard to the touch
• Does not grow
• Does not affect structural integrity
• Is not a safety issue

Misdiagnosing normal tyre construction features as a fault can cost customers hundreds of dollars unnecessarily.

That’s why it pays to visit experienced tyre professionals who understand tyre construction — not just replacement and taking your 💰

If you’re ever unsure, get a second opinion before replacing tyres you may not need to.
