For over a year now, Pukekohe Park has come alive every Sunday with the vibrant energy of the Franklin Sunday Market — and what a success it has been.

A huge thank you to Roger, Alex and their families for their passion and commitment in bringing this market to life week after week.
With around 100 stallholders each Sunday, the market has become a fantastic platform for local makers, growers, and small businesses — and a great place for the community to come together.

From fresh produce and artisan goods to food trucks and family-friendly vibes, it’s quickly become a Sunday favourite in Franklin.

Thank you to everyone who supports the market — stallholders, organisers, and the wider community.

We’re proud to see Pukekohe Park playing a role in creating a space for connection, local enterprise, and great weekends.

A huge thank you to the competition partners; judges Carena West, Matty McLean, Julia-Rose Hayes; MC Soraya Brosnan and all our competitors for helping us put this competition on - we can't do it without you.

"Bred by Te Kuiti’s Bill Punch, Bonecrusher was knocked down to owner Peter Mitchell for just $3,250 at the Waikato yearling sales.

"He became New Zealand’s first million-dollar-earning galloper and retired having amassed nearly $3 million."

As we count down to Bonecrusher Stakes Day here at Pukekohe Park this Saturday, we’re celebrating the extraordinary career of the champion who inspired it.

Bonecrusher - New Zealand’s first million-dollar-earning racehorse - is being celebrated at Pukekohe Park on Saturday 6 December 2025.

As part of our National Thoroughbred Week celebrations, we have two track legends coming for a public appearance at Saturday's MyRacehorse Counties Cup Day.

Mufhasa - NZ Racing Hall of Fame inductee and two-time New Zealand Horse of the Year, 'Mufy's' racing career spanned 20 wins, nine seconds, six thirds for a cool $3.63 million in prizemoney. Mufhasa will be leading out the field of the MyRacehorse Counties Cup.

Bostonian - three-time Australian Group 1 winner. Bostonian will be leading out the field of the Haunui Farm Counties Bowl - a race he himself won in 2018.

The public will also get a chance to get up close and meet Bostonian at 3.45pm (where the public lawn meets the Birdcage - look out for signage!).
