Kihi kihi support team with their trade

It's been a longtime since I have posted on here , alot has happened The bike was sold to Matt and I tried to retire unsuccessfully,.
I just felt I needed to share my nz sidecar champs experience im sure matt will share the results etc, we have run fairly slim season as Im flat out But if I was to put a title to our champs story I would call it the little team that dared to dream, we weren't even sure if we would do the champs as patchs birthday is today the day after the champs but he gives us the go ahead and I managed to drive all night after the meeting to get home at 7am and be here when he got up so job done.
I probably look for different things to matt on the bike After the north islands ropes asked me how it felt to be on the podium I honestly told him that I value the feeling of when we are both perfectly in tune with each other and the bike is on song and we get to dance the beautiful dance only the lucky few get to experience over any trophy, ( although id take a nz number 😊)
Well on the weekend I got to experience that in spades.
Anyway we came so close to giving ourselves a chance and I am incredibly proud of the way we rode.
But on to the more important things that make our team so special, we have lots of kids that support us everywhere we go and as we did the parade lap there was little lily standing in the crowd excitedly waving her sign she had made to support us and then our main sponsors Brado, Cam ,Roxi and star surprised us coming up to support.I feel when you have people like this behind you you have already won before you start.
A trade was done with Lilly and we came away with the best trophy.
Thank you to the 21p team for taking us under there wing and our families for letting us race.
I think the photo pretty much sums us up charging hard with amazing people behind us.
Congratulations to those that made it on the podium its a massive effort thank you to the kihikihi club for running an awesome meeting.
Matt I know it stings a bit but you rode amazing thanks for letting me dance.

The beautiful humans that make racing so much fun.
It feels like its been a hot minute. Were off to palmy for our last meeting of the season. cant wait. Its the best pairs when we team up with abother bike. We have always done well at this event so hopefully we can have a good run tonight. The weathers mint come on down racing starts at 5 30.

Nz champs done!
We had goals we thought were achievable, and we have been working really really hard on the little things instead of chasing results and i think that while we didnt make the podium we showed what we can do when we work hard and surround ourselves with amazing people.
After a good qualifying night we serviced the bike munched on some of anns lollie cake and got ready for the grand parade, it was cool to take willow for a lap so she could see how big the track really is, we had a heap of supporters there and if nothing else im pretty sure we have the happiest pit area.
Race 1
Matt was all set we got the gate and managed to take the win the perfect start.
We were lucky to have the chatterbox crew servicing the bike again which means matt and i can have a rest with a short turn around between races this was much appreciated.
Race 2
We were off the pole and didnt get the best start it took a few laps but we managed to work our way past the 23c and the the 19v to salvage a 2nd place.
Race 3
We bombed the start pulled a big wheelie and had to chase like mad men, Matt was going hard but with the 3nz and 27b infront we had to settle for 3rd
Race 4
This was another tough one with 1nz and 97p we got out the gate ok and were having a battle with the 11a but while we were doing that Dylan snuck through and we had to settle for another 3rd.
Race 5
Matt felt we were out of the points so we went with a simple approach of just trying to win which is always the goal, we had gate 2 which was working for us and got a perfect start with the 16c on our hip the whole way, taking the win when we got in Ross told us we had to get our fuel tested as we were 4= with our usual adversaries the 27b!
For us this was an awesome result considering where we were at the beginning of the season and I am super proud of the result.
It was an awesome meeting and was made all the better by the amazing people we have surrounding us, from our long suffering families, to our crazy sponsor brado and his cool tribe to the Dixon family who work flat out all meeting keeping us going without these people it would only be half the fun!
I can only imagine how much goes into running the racing and i think a massive shout out goes to all of the volunteers that make it happen.

Well night one of the nz champs at palmy is done and dusted. It was a busy night and a well run meeting. It was really cool to have jack and luca and their family make the trek down from napier i reckon these 2 will be slinging laps in a sidecar oneday, as always little grace had made the journey from Stratford to scream at us as loud as she can! Roxi and star had the coolest sign up in the stands for us and the chatterbox racing crew not only win the best dressed award but the turn the bike around for us after each race meaning we can have a rest and debrief along with our amazing families and my workmates WE HAVE THE BEST SUPPPORTERS.
We had a plan, got a good practice in and headed out for race 1 not getting the best start we couldn't do much about the 26b and 1nz infront and had to settle for 3rd.
Race 2
We got a much better start unfortunately we were not able to hold off the 97p and rolled in for 2nd
Race 3
There were only 3 bikes in this race but it was a good battle after a restart we managed to pull around the 8p and matt worked hard to get infront of the 51b to take the win which meant we were able to qualify straight through avoiding the repecharge.
We will get the bike ready to go this morning and give it our best again tonight
